Buttero leather is produced by Walpier, the third generation Italian tannery. The leather is vegetable processed using the finest French hides. It has a smooth surface and a rich oil content making it one the most sought after leathers. Despite its smooth surface it has rich deep colours. Buttero leather is especially loved in Japan.
Rally is an oil pull up leather produced by Ausonia, one of Italy’s famous tanneries and Walpier which makes leather using only traditional processes.
It contains rich oils and two tone natural colours in bent areas. With natural milling and vintage colour the paraffin that has been applied to the surface becomes more and more subtle with use. The surface dying treatment is very unique so it is recommended for those who like natural and vintage leather products. The Rally Volpe colour is the best selling Arte Di Mano colour
Minerva Box is a vegetable tanned leather from Badalassi Carlo Italy,
It is a full vegetable tanned leather which comes from Alpine cows.
The initial matt feel gradually gives way to a natural lustre over time.
It is the softest leather among soft leather types.

Pueblo is another leather from Badalassi Carlo in Italy.
It is a medium hard leather with a unique surface created by rolling metal beads over it on a hard surface.
It is a popular leather that is increasing in demand around the world.
Recommended for those who enjoy a leather which a vintage feel.
Nile crocodile from the Henglong Co, Singapore.
Henglong is owned by LVHM, the parent company of Louis Vuitton. They are the world class crocodile tannery producing high quality crocodile skins. Crocodile leather is superior to other type of leather in terms of durability because it has excellent surface stiffness in addition to its unique texture and grain pattern.
Nile crocodile is regarded as the very best hide along with Porosus, a salt water crocodile and the alligator which lives mainly in the United States.

A vegetable tanned leather from the Sedgwick company in England.
English Bridle is a premium leather strong enough to be used for reins, harnesses and saddles. The tanning process with tallow and oils takes 6 weeks. Arte Di Mano only use Bridle leather made by Sedgwick who have been tanning fine leathers for over 100 years. Widely regarded as the best, it is used for bags used by the British royal family.
Arlan, a French company is a tannery that manufactures leathers for luxury brands including Hermes. It has a reputation for producing the finest goatskin leathers.
This chrome tanned leather is soft but has tough properties. The surface is very scratch resistant and the colour is maintained for many years.

A hard leather developed by Walpier, the renowned Italian tannnery. After embossing a pattern onto the surface it is hand dyed to make the protruding parts darker with a two tone dyeing that has a natural lustre. The result is a natural glossy leather which is highly resistant to scratches.
Another fine leather from the Italian company Badalassi Carlo.
Achab is an art finished leather produced from milled Minerva Box. The surface is created by a master craftsman making irregular cuts with a knife by hand. The result is very dramatic and this leather is well suited for use on the Arte di mano half case.
Shell Cordovan from the famous USA tannery Horween. They have been producing this vegetable tanned leather since 1905. It is the most widely known leather among cordovans and is aniline dyed and glazed. Has a slightly rougher surface texture when compared to Italian Shell Cordovan. A case to last a lifetime and beyond.
Vegetable tanned leather from La Perla Azzurra. Camouflage with military pattern on high quality vegetable tanned leather.
Very popular especially with Leica olive green M owners.
Based on Buttero and also from the Walpier Italian tannery. It has the same 2.8-3.00mm thickness as Buttero but a little more grain to the texture. It has a higher tensile strength than Minerva Box and is the leather suggested when making a camera strap in a single layer.
Chromexel is a cowhide leather produced by Horween USA.
The leather is finished with a slightly rough surface unique to American leathers and a natural two tone pull-up finish that occurs at the folds. Limited to three colours but a superb leather.
Labrador is a cowhide leather made in Rocado Italy, famous for Italian shell cordovan.
It has a smooth silky surface texture with deep colour similar to that of shell cordovan.
From Ricardian s.r.l in Italy. They are one of the few remaining tanneries that can still produce shell cordovan leather and have a workforce who are skilled in the art of tanning and finishing shell cordovan leather. Unlike Horween cordovan the Italian option comes in a wide choice of colours.
A superb soft leather from the Mastrotto tannery in Italy. The Italian Mastrotto Nappa leather is famous for being used for the car seats in luxury car brands Lamborghini, Pritchett and Bentley.
Has wonderful depth of colour and similar characteristics to Swift leather being very soft and smooth to the touch.
Novonappa leather is produced by the French company HAAS. It is a hybrid leather with a vegetable finish on a the surface of a chrome tanned leather.
Because it is chrome tanned it is lighter than vegetable leather products but the surface is like a vegetable tanned leather. Like Bridle, when not used often the wax component inside the leather comes to the surface to form a white powdery film. When used again the the wax melts gain and penetrates to restore the original surface texture. This is the original leather of HAAS, France, the supplier to high end luxury brands.
From the Lederfabrik Perlinger tannery in Germany. This unique leather is made by chrome tanning the calf leather then putting it through a shrinking process. It has a soft surface and is relatively light. Maintains it colour well and is resistant to scratches.
German Perlinger shrunken calf is actually the leather used by Hermes and is more widely known as ‘Togo’
Chrome tanned leather from HAAS France is the leather used by Chanel. It has an attractive lustre with a very slight pearly feel. A beautiful leather for half cases.
A chrome tanned leather coming from France and Spain. This is the leather Leica used for the Hermes Edition.
Swift leather looks patternless but in fact has a very low and dense pattern. It is soft and smooth to the touch.
Fine Lizard skin from Indonesia.
The leather has an attractive lustre and dense surface pattern. It is very durable due to the high tensile strength and wears well.
Genuine ostrich leather from Africa.
A special skin used in the production of high end products. It is characterised by the appearance of feather pores called Quill Marks. The grade of the ostrich skin is determined by how evenly and beautiful the Quill Marks are on the surface of the skin. The price of an ostrich skin is about the same as crocodile. Whilst the ostrich skin is larger the Quill Mark band is quite narrow. It is an extremely difficult skin to work with and demands great skill from the craftsman.
